Client: Hartland Farm, North Devon.
Project Scope: To provide a single efficient biomass boiler to replace an elderly oil system. This site has multiple heating zones and an indoor swimming pool.
Solution: This is a large domestic property in a remote area so our design consisted of a 45KW light commercial KWB boiler with a large 10 tonne pellet store. We worked with the client who designed his own header manifold linking the various heating zones including under floor heating and a swimming pool plant room. Some areas of the existing heating system were old and of unknown integrity so Optimum installed a heat exchanger separating the new biomass boiler from the existing house heating system. This ensured that any issues from the farmhouse would not effect the performance of the KWB biomass boiler.
